Candidate for the 2019 Nobel Peace Prize Ion Lazarenco, declared the best open water swimmer in 2018, is in Madrid from 28 to 31 May to participate in several public events, where he will promote the image of the Republic of Moldova and the idea of peace.
Thus, on 29 and 30 May, Lazarenco attended the International Congress on Human Rights, Democracy, Culture of Peace and Non-Violence, where he had the opportunity to speak to the Mayor Federico Zaragoza, a well-known promoter of "Caring for the Earth" and world peace. At the same time, the Congress of the Autonomous University of Madrid opened a photo exhibition Ion Lazarenco - "7 Straits in 7 Photographs".
Today, May 30, the swimmer will visit the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in the Kingdom of Spain to meet with Moldovans in Madrid to discuss the history of his success, the importance of maintaining peace on the ground and promoting his "#swimofpeace".
